Rotary Wednesday!

So for those of you that dont know, Caresse and I attend the North Texas Pioneers Rotary Club. Now you may be wondering what exactly is Rotary..the purpose of the organization is to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Long Story short: "Service above Self". We do this through projects on a local, regional, and global basis. The organization was founded in 1905 by Paul Harris in Chicago.

OK, so since you got a quick, and when I say quick, I really mean quick because there is a lot more I could say about Rotary that would make you wanna be a part of this great organization. Even though I was ambushed by Caresse (Left-Sider) to go to the first meeting. She normally comes up with her wild crazy ideas and events, and for some reason I'm the one with the follow through. Match made in CRAZY HEAVEN. But I must admit that this invite as her "default guest" was one of the greatest things my sissy encouraged me to do.

Anywho.... so tonight we had a very touching program about a Tanzanian Mission, which provides medical and educational services during the summer to the Tanzanian people. I am sure our club will be a part of in the summer of 2012. More info in later blog posts.....

I also dressed up in a ballgown that was borrowed from.....yes.... my sissy Caresse! BEAUTIFUL! The club President and I had to make a special about an upcoming Rotary Gala to support the Rotary Foundation! AND, we had a surprise turkey dinner, that consist of a cake! Pumpkin Spice cake that looked like a turkey... see pic below...AMAZING!

Where can u go to have great German food, drink beer and wine and still work on GREAT SERVICE PROJECT.... ROTARY!
